Irrigation expert Bill Underwood founded Chesapeake Irrigation & Lighting in 1981, setting the bar high for sprinkler system installation and personable, personalized customer service. Thirty-five years later, the company continues to reinvigorate home gardens and corporate landscapes throughout Annapolis, the Greater Baltimore area, and along the Eastern Shore.
Today, Chesapeake is led by Bill’s son, Dave Underwood, and staffed by a team of specialists with more than 200 cumulative years of experience.
In the same way that Dave and his team can immediately spot a worn and weathered landscape long overdue for TLC, in 2015 they turned their gaze inward, and determined that the company website was in need of urgent revitalization.
IMPACT Marketing & Public Relations was called in to spearhead the maintenance.
The Goal
The IMPACT team implemented a complete website overhaul for Chesapeake Irrigation & Lighting, opting for an easy-to-use WordPress platform with responsive design.
Clear, appealing copy was written to inform prospects of the company’s extensive irrigation, lighting, and yard drainage services, while the strategic incorporation of focus keywords vastly improved the company’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) performance.
Blogging, too, was emphasized – with the site’s former offerings course-corrected to be better positioned for SEO results, while IMPACT copywriters assumed ongoing blogging responsibilities. IMPACT also took point on Chesapeake’s social media presence, actively managing the company’s Facebook account and providing new, engaging content on a weekly basis.
