For five years, the Howard County-based KinderMender Walk-In Pediatric Center has utilized virtually every service offered by IMPACT Marketing & Public Relations to ensure the smiling faces of its patients – and their parents – at each of the company’s three Maryland locations.
Formerly the Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Chairman of the Pediatric Asthma Program at the University of Maryland Hospital for Children, Dr. Keyvan Rafei envisioned a clinic that would eschew the image of the stuffy, scary doctors in favor of a relaxed, congenial atmosphere and a friendly, honest staff of physicians and support personnel.
Dr. Rafei’s goal was to offer hassle-free, streamlined, and comprehensive care that would include on-site x-rays, labs, and antibiotics, and flexible hours of operation that catered to the demanding schedules of a thriving family. To do so, the marketing objective for his clinic was clear: Win over busy moms and dads, and start watching your patient list grow.
IMPACT launched a full-scale campaign aimed toward parental awareness of the clinic, and implemented every trick in its book – from website design to social media to blogging and beyond – to keep families coming back for treatments of all kinds.
It certainly helped that the reviews of Dr. Rafei’s dedicated staff were glowing.
In that time, KinderMender has tallied more than 170,000 visits from more than 47,000 unique patients, and in 2015 celebrated its 100,000th patient visit.
KinderMender has been named Chesapeake Family magazine’s Favorite Doctors in the Urgent Care category for two consecutive years (2015-2016), and received consecutive Celebrating Successes honors from the Howard County Office of Children’s Services in 2014 and 2015, as well as multiple nominations for the Baltimore Business Journal’s Innovator award.
